One of the breakfast meals I remember the most from my childhood\u00a0is waffles. At the time, Eggo Waffles were pretty popular, and I was always craving for them.<\/p>\n

The downside is they weren’t healthy… at all! Nowadays, with everything we know about nutrition, I want the best for my kids, while still making sure they enjoy the small pleasures life can offer them, like a deliciously moist<\/strong>, crunchy, super awesome waffle in the morning!<\/p>\n

The cool thing about this recipe is you can either prepare these waffles as a hearty breakfast or a delicious dessert. It does not contain traditional flour, using only oatmeal, making it super healthy<\/strong> and sustaining.<\/p>\n

You won’t even notice the difference! I decided to go with a simple wild berry coulis, made out of frozen berries and honey, for a powerful antioxidant boost to start the day<\/a>. Super simple and healthy.<\/p>\n

Kids gave them two thumbs up, so that is a pretty good sign!<\/p>\n

These waffles are also gluten-free and can be kept in the freezer for 1-2 months.<\/p>\n

Make sure your\u00a0waffle iron is hot enough: I always plug it right when I finish preparing my waffle batter\u00a0so I can let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes (for more fluffy awesomeness!).<\/p>\n
